bringing matriarchy to the modern world
We are an alliance of many organizations recognizing our shared mission to move society towards matriarchy. We are committed to fostering a future guided by balance and respect for life.
Our mission is to empower all genders to co-create a world that honors the Earth and humanity's interconnectedness.
Interested in diving deeper? Read our vision.
Patriarchal systems are failing us. Social and environmental crises are leading humanity and millions of other species down a path of suffering towards extinction.
There is another way: matriarchy. Inspired and informed by the wisdom of contemporary and historical matriarchal societies, we strive to build egalitarian, consensus-driven communities led by women.

Feminine Wisdom Matriarchal School in Narni, Italy.
On the hillsides of Narnia, in an old farmhouse surrounded by woods and olive trees it is the home of MatriCulture, a project led by the women volunteers association BestUp APS, that created a school to bring forward community education with matriarchal values for women’s empowerment. The courses run in place, online and also in other communities that are thriving to create a new paradigm with matriarchal values. Led by a group of passionate women, they are solidly working to create this space for sharing wisdoms.
The school has created an innovative module SHE-EDE, certified by Gaia Education, that is at her fourth edition. This SHE-EDE program is designed and follows Mother Earth seasonal rhythms of life, Matriarchal Wisdom, the Spiral wheel of the Work that Reconnect and the Wheel of Gaia Education, Ecovillage Design Education program. This last is an award-winning provider of holistic learning for Sustainable Development. Gaia Education and the Work that Reconnects are meant to empower students across the globe to see the interconnections of life by learning to design sustainable communities, restoring balance to our planet in the urgent transition to a more regenerative future, reversing the climate crisis. Modern Matriarchal Studies are eye openers to a new ecological egalitarian way of life.
In Mai 2025 we will be in Portugal facilitating the ecological dimension in a newly born community and in November we are planning to be in Colombia in the modern matriarchal Community of Nashira Ecoaldea for a 30 days program. We run courses also online.
Our website for the school is in progress and for the time being we work with the She-EDE website: www.dancing-goddess.org. The name is purposely an homage to the work of Heide Goettner-Abendroth.
Actions we are invested in: helping women communities change vision, non-formal education, women’s empowerment, actions to create awareness, healing through ceremonies and women’s circles.

Chix is a media company for a healed future. We share ideas to create a future liberated from patriarchal capitalism and healed from its damages. To us, that means bringing back matriarchy.
Media today either contributes to widespread fear or pushes the agenda of industry and consumerism. This maintains the status quo of patriarchy and disconnection with nature and ourselves. We're on a mission to change that.
Before we became Chix on the Spring Equinox of 2024, we were Chicks For Climate. CFC was started in 2019 by Nergiz De Baere to bring together feminism and environmentalism on social media. We've built a community of over 350k people ready to create a healed future.
Thank you for joining us on our journey to create a media company that centers Mother, Nature, and Healing - themes that hold the power to transform our world.
Read our manifesto for a deep dive into our mission and learn why for us, a healed future means creating matriarchal societies.

International Academy for Modern Matriarchal Studies and Matriarchal Spirituality” has been founded and directed by Heide Goettner-Abendroth since 1986. The Academy HAGIA is unique in its way to do scientific research and teaching on the subject of matriarchal cultures and societies.
The program includes lectures, seminars, and intensive study courses, and celebrations of matriarchal spirituality following the cycles of the seasons and of life: the new Matriarchal Mystery Festivals (since 1983).
Every year, informative and exploring travels are made to different countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, and America. They are either archaeological study travels to the historical remnants of matriarchal cultures, or anthropological travels to the people of the still existing matriarchal societies of today.
In 2003, the Academy HAGIA has been the representative for three world congresses on Matriarchal Studies: 2003 in Luxembourg, 2005 in Texas / USA, 2011 in Switzerland on the topic Matriarchal Politics.

The Nashira Ecovillage in Palmira, Colombia, is a modern matriarchal community where women lead in every sense. Households are headed by women, who are also the primary income earners. All administrative decisions are made by consensus among the women. Alcohol consumption is discouraged, and men who have committed acts of violence against women or children have been expelled from the community.
There is no crime in Nashira. Violence against women has been eradicated through a culture of mutual support, open-door solidarity, and a redefinition of masculinity—where men are expected to embody love and respect for women. There are no teenage pregnancies. Childcare and village maintenance are shared responsibilities, carried out through mingas, or collective workdays.
The women of Nashira grow staple crops using permaculture techniques and practice a maternal gift economy. Fruit trees flourish in communal areas, accessible to all. Solar energy powers the village, and recycling is a point of pride: organic and inorganic waste is carefully sorted, with plastics, glass, and other materials transformed into useful products for everyday life.
